Discussing Who will be attending WHOLanta during May 05-07, 2017, marking the first time face-to-face meeting of two Doctor Who: Podshock hosts, myself and Lee Shackleford!
Long Island's fourth annual Doctor Who convention features three Doctors this November!
For the first time ever in New York, three Doctors will appear at one convention, L.I. Who 4. Peter Davison, Colin Baker, and Paul McGann lead an all star guest line up that also includes Sophie Aldred, Frazer Hines, Anneke Wills, Nick Briggs, Jemma Redgrave, Clare Higgins, Richard Franklin, Daphne Ashbrook, Yee Jee Tso, Peter Purves, and many more.
Christmas came early this year when I received a message from our very own Louis Trapani this morning. That message - a link to the following story - was Christmas come early.
The Doctor and River Song Reunite for a Spectacular Christmas
Normally, I would prefface this notice by stating a most appropriate phrase; however, today...SPOILERS wouldn't be sufficient.
Alex Kingston returns on Christmas Day 2015 to the role she made famous - River Song.
Doctor Who: Podshock began in August 2005 with the first episode and it continues, stronger than ever, in 2015. Like The Doctor, it's regenerated and even changed the desktop theme. While it would be (virtually) impossible to included all the moments of 328 episodes, this brief tribute is..well, my tribute.
Doctor Who: Podshock 10th Anniversary
Some of you may know me from recent episodes of Doctor Who: Podshock. While we are quickly manipulating and navigating the vortex that will take us to Series 9, I wanted to introduce myself and discuss how I came to join the Podshock team.
WHO Am I?
For starters, I'm Kyle Jones or @kylemj6977 on Twitter. I work in Human Resources, but am also a writer on my own and several HR related blogs. My TARDIS is parked in Brandon, MS. So, without further delay, I've ripped the last page from a random book to share the following with you.
I know I talked my head off (get it?) in PODSHOCK #327 about how much I love THE BRAIN OF MORBIUS, but I'm not through yet. If you're already sick of me talking about it, and why wouldn't you be, really? Then move along -- nothing to see here ...
... Still with me? Oh, good.
I mentioned on #327 how much I appreciated the screenwriting touch, the elegant pathos of having Condo's arm sacrificed to Solon's master work ... and of Condo then seeing the arm and recognising it. I realized later that this is only part of a larger virtue of this script. Where BRAIN OF MORBIUS excels, I think, is in putting sympathetic characters in credible danger. And maybe nowhere is this more striking than in the plot element of Sarah Jane's temporary blindness.
Titan Comics to Publish Multi-Doctor Crossover Comic Event
A news item on Nerdist.com last January is where I first read the news that the Doctor Who comic license was leaving IDW and heading over to Titan. Now, over a year later, we’ve seen new titles for the Tenth, Eleventh, and Twelfth Doctors PLUS a Doctor Who book available for the 2015 Free Comic Book Day.
Today is a celebration! Why? Today is the 10th anniversary of Rose, the episode that brought introduced us to Rose Tyler and brought back Doctor Who.
Happy 10th Anniversary, Rose Tyler
It had been sixteen years since Doctor Who the airing of a regular episode, and it had been nine years since Sylvester McCoy handed over control of the TARDIS to Paul McGann in the TV movie. On March 26, 2005, something magical happened. The BBC broadcast “Rose” to a UK viewership of 10.81 million. Today, on the episode’s 10th Anniversary, I take a look back on the regeneration of a phenomenon. (Information provided, in part, via Wikipedia.org.)

It's interesting seeing this interview now of Peter Capaldi on Craig Ferguson's late night chat show years before (from 2009) he was cast as The Doctor. Pay very close attention what Peter is wearing, a definite precursor to his Doctor's costume. Doctor Who doesn't come up in conversation (Peter was there promoting his then new movie, In the Loop, but Craig does bring up their past history together including 'dropping acid' and being part of a punk rock band (The Dreamboys). It's also the first time Peter is speaking to an American audience.
